School Council Election 2018
UNITE - School Council
The Surf Coast Secondary College School Council provides opportunity for parents/guardians to participate in the governance of our school.
The School Council meets 8 times throughout the year and is responsible for ensuring that all governance practices are followed correctly.
The School Council also provides an important voice as the school leadership works to shape the direction of our school.
This year we have 5 Parent/Guardian positions open. School Council membership is an extremely rewarding experience and at SCSC the input of school council members is highly valued.
If you are interested in supporting the school in this way then please look through the information regarding the upcoming nomination period on the school website or contact the College Administration Office for further information.
Accountability & Improvement
Just as there are educational standards for students to be assessed against, schools and their management systems have accountability standards in place as well.
As part of the DET Accountability and Improvement process schools must complete and publish documents to their community that both report on results gained and report on strategies for the continuous improvement of the college.
These documents include the Strategic Plan, Annual Implementation Plan and Annual Report.
All DET schools are required to submit these reports on an annual basis and publish for community view.
