At Surf Coast Secondary College, we welcome new students at the end of each semester. Our enrolment process begins with an interview with our Enrolments Leader, Kelly Zois.
To organise an enrolment interview, please contact the College via email (per below). We ask that you have your proof of residency and your child's birth certificate ready to submit. Unfortunately without these documents, the College is not able to process your child's enrolment. Please be aware that once the College has received all required documents, the enrolment process is expected to take up to a week.
For any enquiries about our Enrolment Process please email the College on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Grade 6 - Year 7 2021 Transition Information
Government primary schools distribute the Transition Information Pack to all parents/carers of Year 6 students.
Note: Secondary schools do not distribute copies of the Application for Year 7 Placement form to families of Year 6 students attending government schools.
Families of Year 6 students at non-government (Catholic and independent) primary schools may contact secondary schools directly for a copy of the Year 7 Placement form and may also submit a copy of the Application form directly to their preferred secondary school.
Group Tour Sign Up
We would like to offer you the chance to take a look at Surf Coast Secondary College in action. Our College offers an inclusive, open learning environment that supports the transition from primary education. With current restrictions in place, we are unable to conduct any on-site tours, but we plan on running small group tours over the next couple of months to help make the decision of choosing the right secondary school for your child easier.

Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund
Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. It is part of making Victoria the Education State and the Government’s commitment to breaking the link between a student’s background and their outcomes.
If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
The annual CSEF amount per student is:
•• $125 for primary school students
•• $225 for secondary school students
Please note that if your child was enrolled at Surf Coast Secondary College and was a recipient of the 2016 CSEF, you do not need to complete another application. When you signed the 2016 application form, you agreed to the clause:
• this consent, once signed, remains valid while my child is enrolled at a registered Victorian school unless I withdraw it by contacting the school.
If you did not receive the CSEF in 2019 and meet the eligibility criteria, please complete an application form and return it to the College's Administration Team as soon as possible.
If you have any questions regarding the Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund please contact us on 03 5261 6633.
Designated Neighbourhood Area (DNA)
Surf Coast Secondary College now has a strict Designated Neighbourhood Area (DNA) for enrolments.
This means that the College can only take students from a specific neighbourhood area. Where your permanent residential address is will determine whether your child is eligible to enrol at Surf Coast Secondary College.
During the enrolment process along with the DET required documents we will ask for a proof of residency in the form of sale documents, a rates notice or a rental agreement in your name.
Below you can find a map of our Designated Neighbourhood Area.
Our school zone is available on Findmyschool.vic.gov.au and hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2020 onwards.
The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
You can find the most up to date information and answers on the Department’s website under DET Travelling to School.
If you have any questions please contact Kelly Zois, our Enrolments Leader at email@example.com.
SCSC is currently well served by a number of dedicated bus routes.
Within Victorian Schools bussing to and from school fits into 3 categories.
School dedicated Public Bus Routes
SCSC has three of these routes running to and from Grovedale via Wombah Park, the Quay and the Sands; to and from Jan Juc via the Surf Coast Highway and to and from Ocean Acres via Coombes Road. These Buses are controlled by Public Transport Victoria (PTV), a Myki Card is essential for travel on these buses and the College has no say on whether we keep or increase the number of buses on these routes. That is a PTV decision. Having said this, to have three dedicated buses is definitely good service. If you meet specific criteria you may be eligible for Conveyance, to apply for conveyance the application form is below (Form 3: Conveyance Allowance application - Public transport travel)
SBP Provided Services
SCSC has three of these buses. One runs from Anglesea, via Jan Juc and the other from Anglesea via Bellbrae to SCSC. These Services are provided by Coles Coaches and are for students attending SCSC, Torquay College and St Therese PS. We now have a new service from the Gherang area which is available to support 16 SCSC students. These buses are available for students living on/ near this route who are living further than 4.8km from the College where SCSC is their closest Public Secondary School. There may also be other criteria students must fit to be eligible for free travel on these buses. Student access to this bus is made via application. All Services are subject to availability and must have a minimum of 1 weeks' notice for travel. The application forms for these services are below (Form 1: Application for Permission to Travel - Eligible Students). Only students who successfully apply are allowed travel on these services.
Regular Public Transport Buses
There are public transport buses along the Surf Coast Highway every day with bus stops at the Merrijig and Surf Coast Highway intersection. These buses are solely run by PTV and serve all community members. Again Myki cards are essential for travel on these buses. The below Bus Brochure outlines maps and timetables of these services.
School Bus Eligibility Guide: DET School Bus Eligibility Guide
Student ID cards now have the PTV logo, so SCSC students are now able to present this card to the bus driver as proof of concession.
At SCSC Kelly Zois is our Bus Coordinator. Questions relating to Bus services can be directed to Kelly by contacting the college on
03 5261 6633 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that Kelly coordinates this program as it is set out by DET and PTV. Decisions made on the SCSC Bus services are not the decision of the school. We will relay all concerns to PTV and DET and continue to work to get even better services for our growing population.
